Pikotaro Performs ‘PPAP’ Live With Orchestra At Japan Record Awards

As many of you may have seen on YouTube “PPAP”, or “Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen”, the outrageously catchy 45-second long ‘song’ has been making waves across social media having come out of literally nowhere with its release back in September. Since then the single which is written and performed by fictional character Pikotaro, the brainchild of Japanese comedian Daimaou Kosaka has even made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 and had a truly cringeworthy extended version signed by Ultra Music. Now, Pikotaro is looking to keep the renditions going with this extended orchestral version that gives us a whole new take on the song. The performance looks to have been televised on Japanese national television at the Japan Record Awards 2016 no less to usher in the new year. Following the completion of the first verse, Pikotaro launches into ‘Dance Time’ and even appears to be conducting the orchestra himself! Stream it below. Your EDM Month In Music – December

It’s official we have come upon the end of the road for the year of 2016. The journey was filled with beautiful beats and ballads but its time to turn over a new leaf, hello 2017! Starting next year the Your EDM Month In Music playlists will include the number of songs corresponding to how many days are in the month. For example this December we included 31 tracks for your personal listening pleasure! Now let’s take a look back over the month of December. Master-producer deadmau5 released his 8th full-length studio album solely on his imprint label mau5trap which premiered #1 on the Billboard US Dance chart without the help of any outside major label companies. DJ Snake released 9 different remixes to his hit single with Justin Bieber “Let Me Love You” on Interscope Records. The French producer handpicked: Tiësto, Marshmello, Don Diablo, and ZEDD just to name a few to work their magic on massively successful crossover track. Denver, Colorado-based musician, Illenium released a complete remix album to his debut charting album “Ashes” which peaked at #6 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums. The remix pack includes names like: Just A Gent, Crystal Skies, K?d, Kill Paris, Dabin, and T-Mass & LZRD just to name a few. LA-based duo Mako released their debut album an alternative pop-electronica 13-track packed album, Hourglass. Mako was admittedly uncertain about the fan-reception of their new album as they had ventured into totally new territory. Props to artists like Mako for treading upon new waters without any expectations. The Grandfather of EDM, Tiësto, released his first ever AFTR:HRS compilation album. AFTR:HRS will be Tiësto’s brand new record label which will for the most part see the release of deep house records. DJ Snake made personal history by finding 27 different producers to put their own unique spin on the French DJ’s track with Yellow Claw, “Ocho Cinco.” The remix pack includes remixes by a plethora of uniquely individual producers such as: Herobust, FIGHT CLVB, Victor Niglio, Wave Dash, Kandy, Riot Ten, Dombresky, Botnek, SIKDOPE, SAYMYNAME, Barely Alive, Kayzo, and Loopers just to name a few. Gunman Dressed As Santa Leaves 35 Dead At Istanbul Nightclub

Terror has already struck in 2017; a gunman dressed as Santa Claus has attacked the Reina nightclub in Istanbul, Turkey. Reports state that 35 people were killed in the attack, and 40 others wounded after the unnamed assailant opened fire on an estimated 500 people inside the venue. The tragedy occurred around 1:45 am, and police have cordoned off a two mile area around the club, as the operation to capture the assailant is still under way. At this time it is uncertain whether this attack is tied terrorist organizations, but the Islamic State and Kurdish rebels have carried out numerous attacks in Ankara and Istanbul throughout 2016. #Reina‘da silahlı saldırı… Saldırganın gece kulübünde saklandığı iddia ediliyor pic.twitter.com/x5qp6b8G9j — Habertürk TV (@HaberturkTV) December 31, 2016 Source: NY Post This article was first published on Your EDM. Deadmau5 Is Starting On A New Album In January

On the heels of W:/2016ALBUM/, deadmau5 has just announced his intentions to start working on his next LP in January 2017. Considering all the recent developments surrounding mau5, his future looks incredibly bright, but this news regarding another album has come much sooner than anyone anticipated. While deadmau5 probably won’t ever be fully content with his newly designed studio and vast assortment of equipment, he’s certainly edging close to his ideal setup, and with 13 years of project files tucked away, there has to be some gems just waiting to be uncovered. Having just churned out W:/2016ALBUM/, mau5′ new collection will get its start from a clean slate and we can’t wait for what comes of it. Probably going to start my next album in late Jan. The Neve desk should be in by then, so… might as well wait for quality. — dead mow cinco (@deadmau5) December 29, 2016 H/T: Dancing Astronaut | Photo: Rukes This article was first published on Your EDM. Boy With Autism Gets The Chance To DJ A Song At Seattle Nightclub

Noah Johnson, an eight-year-old from Bonney Lake with high-functioning autism, received the chance to live out his dream this week at a Seattle nightclub where his mom works. According to interviews held with King 5, Johnson’s mom took pictures that he drew of his favorite DJs to the managers of the Aston Manor nightclub. The team then arranged a special surprise for Johnson, allowing him to come up to the decks and play a song for the night’s crowd. Winson Sharps, resident DJ and music director at Aston Manor, said that he’d never seen someone so young with such a strong passion for DJing. “I get people my age who want to learn how to DJ and whatnot, but never an 8-year-old child with that passion already, so it was really cool.” Johnson and his family were accompanied by a police officer as they entered the venue, in order to ensure that his underage visit was legal. Then Johnson, otherwise known by his DJ name DJ Illuminati Pieces, played a song and took home his own set of equipment and headphones to practice with. “Everyone was cheering for me, and they were happy.” According to Johnson’s drawings, some of his favorite DJs are Flosstradamus, The Chainsmokers, Steve Aoki, Yellow Claw, Hardwell and even rapper DMX. “You know I think I’m going to learn to DJ some day and it’ll be great.” Click here to watch DJ Illuminati Pieces in action, as well as interviews with his father and Aston Manor DJs!
