RayRay shares new EP “Currently On Earth”

RayRay wraps up her 2025 Dim Mak releases with her concept EP; Currently On Earth. A sonic and visual journey through the human psyche, told through the perspective of her own  alien identity. An introspective and otherworldly compilation of RayRay’s year, the EP fuses her love for hard techno, hard dance, psytrance and emotional melody with the surreal worlds she’s been building visually through her artist project.

RayRay shares; “I built this EP around the idea of the Id, Ego, and Superego - the impulses we hide, the battles we fight, and the clarity we search for. Each track represents a different emotional state, a different version of myself trying to understand what it means to be here on Earth.”

The EP has two new singles “Make It Wet” and "Bad Decisions.” RayRay explains that “Make It Wet” is the moment where all parents of the psyche collide - the ID’s raw impulses, the ego’s precision, and the Superego’s power exploding into a high-energy, hard-techno climax.

It’s the EP’s most physical, primal, and body-driven track. A full release of tension. “Anchored by a stomping kick, hypnotic vocal commands, and a dripping, metallic synth line, “Make It Wet” feels like a surrender to instinct.” she shares.

And then “Bad Decisions” - the emotional shadow of the EP.  In her words, this track is  “the moment of reflection after the chaos, where temptation, impulse, and truth collide.

It blends hard-dance drums with haunting melodies and distorted vocals, creating a tension between pleasure and consequence.The song captures the feeling of knowing something is wrong but diving into it anyway - a perfect embodiment of the Id vs. Superego conflict.”

Rising Faster Than the Global Dance Scene

Despite the pandemic, 2020 and 2021 didn’t slow this hardworking artist down one bit. With the dance scene at a standstill, RayRay started her live streaming channel on Twitch, landing a residency on Tiesto’s Musical Freedom Sirius XM Radio show. All in between touring the US and various countries in Asia. But the crowning achievement was placing 3rd in the Best of China award from DJMag. RayRay is, without a doubt, one of the hardest-working women in the industry. Besides touring and live streaming, she dropped some of the hottest bangers of the year. Her EP 'Lasergun' with Yellow Claw, 'Pump it up' with Moksi, and 'Where Are My Friends' with Sihk are just some examples. Needless to say, RayRay is going places and doesn't seem to slow down anytime soon.

One might assume that after an incredible 2021, RayRay would slow down in 2022. Nothing could be further from the truth. A world tour took her to some of the best clubs and festivals the world has to offer. With the highlight of course being playing Tomorrowland in Belgium and multiple nights at ADE. On top of various high-profile collaborations, she also dropped her critically acclaimed album 'Unearthly World' with a sold-out, exclusive live concert.

One could say 2023 is everything that RayRay hoped it would be, finishing three tours, performing 65 times in 16 countries, releasing a deluxe album, a remix album, and 9 singles, all while completing 100 trips around the world. One could see her casually playing the biggest venues like Bootshaus, Warp, Space Plus or Festivals like Ultra Taiwan, EDC China. Receiving the 1001tracklists award for being one of the '2023 Future of Dance' artists was an incredible honor for this humble artist. But one thing is for sure, RayRay is once again showing no signs of slowing down in 2024.

2024 barely started, and RayRay has already cranked out 2 sonic pieces of ear candy, 'To The Beat' with Dyro and 'Feel It' with Sikdope. She went on tour through the United States supporting JVNA for an incredible 16 gigs in between playing EDC Mexico and officially moving to the United States. One can only wonder what else this Alien Queen holds in store for her fans this year.

Blakkat has been a driving force in electronic music for over three decades. His career spans a Mercury Prize with M People, remixes for New Order, A Tribe Called Quest, and Chaka Khan, and collaborations with pioneers like Marshall Jefferson and David Morales. Known for bridging cultural credibility with crossover appeal, his catalog includes releases on Crosstown Rebels, Hot Creations, and Defected. Blakkat joined Sacha earlier this year for ‘The Flood’, the second single off I, Robotti.

Today, electronic music pioneer Josh Wink releases his new Selects Playlist on Apple Music - a deeply personal, wide-ranging collection of the tracks that shaped his musical foundation long before his own productions would influence global dance culture.

“These are some of the songs that soundtracked my life during my early teenage years and early 20s,” Wink says. “They not only served as tools for me to DJ with but also nurtured and inspired my desires to make electronic music as an artist in the 90s.”

What makes this playlist so compelling is the sheer breadth of sound it captures. The selections read like a map of Wink’s inner universe during his formative years - a vivid blend of early electronic innovators, synth-pop icons, industrial experimentalists, hip-hop pioneers, post-punk visionaries, and foundational house and techno artists.

Eight-time GRAMMY®-nominated producer, DJ, and electronic music pioneer Kaskade unveils undux, his long-awaited new studio album arriving December 4 via Arkade x Monstercat. The project marks one of the most introspective, vulnerable, and creatively expansive chapters of his career - a return to the storytelling format that shaped his earliest work, built through a period of personal upheaval, emotional honesty, and renewed artistic intention.

After years of releasing singles tailored for the streaming era, undux represents a deliberate shift back toward album craft. Kaskade describes this era of creation as a reconnection with the narrative format he has always loved, sharing:

“I have always enjoyed the process of making an album. Set aside some time, get together with some friends and make music. It always felt like telling a story with chapters and verse… Less emphasis on the crescendo but really trying to convey an entire mood or idea.”

The road to undux began with several attempts to restart the album process - sessions that didn’t feel honest, and periods where life’s personal challenges made creation difficult. Instead of forcing it, he stepped back. It wasn’t until this past summer, when he allowed himself to fully embrace what he was feeling, that the music finally began to take shape. What emerged was an album rooted in hope, vulnerability, and the quiet truth that comes from allowing emotion to lead the way.

The early pieces of the album revealed themselves throughout the fall. On October 16, Kaskade released the era’s opening singles - the euphoric “DNCR” and the reflective “Imprint.” Together, they introduced the emotional tone of the project: rediscovery, surrender, and the marks memory leaves behind.

On November 13, he expanded the narrative with the bittersweet “I Can’t Make You Love Me” and the b-side “Started Over,” a tender examination of heartbreak, perspective, and the fragile optimism found in beginning again. These singles mapped the emotional terrain that undux would delve into fully - the tension between holding on and letting go, between confusion and clarity.

At the center of the album sits “Obvious”, the project’s focus track and its emotional heartbeat. Featuring Kaskade’s own vocals and written from a first-person perspective, it stands as one of his most vulnerable works to date - a blend of dance-floor rhythm, quiet self-reflection, and the soul-stirring sound design that has defined his career.

“Undux has always been about connection through subtraction. From the string of shows I did to the full length album, I’ve tried to strip everything to it’s base layer and understand the beauty of walking through feelings and experiences without getting lost in the reverberations. Undux is a starting point and like with most things in life, it’s not obvious what that start will lead to but I’m excited to share that journey with my listeners.”

May the forces be with you…

The opening track, “Doves,” sets the tone for the EP instantly. The layered textures and eerie sounds resemble taking a wrong turn in the journey through Pan's Labyrinth. Dark bass billows beneath your feet as you traverse this haunting soundscape, with fog slowly rising to the surface as the beat kicks in. A hip-hop-esque beat snaps in for just a second before dissolving into the mist once more. A perilous drop ensues as these hypnotizing synths and various instruments create a feeling of falling through the universe, grasping for direction. Raspy bass lines drive the backbeat home with a smooth and effortless glide.

Next comes “Assemblage”… like a clock spinning backwards on the wall, this one is intense right from the start. Huge glitchy bass booms engulf the listener in a single breath. The glitch-hop textures consume the listener from all angles, cascading in from every direction. Warped metallic noises, chimes, and synths that will drive the listener mad deliver full intensity from start to finish. Lost in the maze of Pan's Labyrinth, this is the part where one gives up all hope of ever making it out.

Prepare for landing!

Crashing into this natural world of mystics is the fierce track “Frenzy.” Driven by a kind of Suicide Boys-esque backbeat, the ominous flutes pierce through the space-filled textures and heavy bass booms. The glitchiness really shines through on this track, with a hypnotizing loop sent by the glitch gods. Then, around the halfway mark, my journey through Pan’s Labyrinth turns into a fight for my life as Pac-Man is hot on my heels, trying to devour me at every turn. This chomping arcade-style beat suddenly disappears into the mist as the warped textures swirl around me once more. Frenzy is, bar none, the heaviest and darkest track on this new EP.

Then comes the title track, “Lightsplinter,” the true light at the end of the tunnel for this four-track journey through the underworld. Signaled by the chirping of birds, the sun begins to shine through, giving one hope. Delicate piano parts lift the listener through that final turn and out of the perilous maze we were once in. Almost like a distant bad dream, Lightsplinter delivers all the hope we need to push forward and start anew. Groove-filled bass lines sneak in around the first minute or so, whisking you away. Whimsical piano parts drift you through the clouds, like a scene from never-ending story. Raspy bass lines and Mario-like textures add an extra flavor to this delightful ending.

As the final piano note rings out, the dark is lifted and the light conquers the day once more.

ZERO DROPS “HOLY GHOST” VIA DEADBEATS AFTER RECENT VIRAL SUCCESS

British producer Zero returns to Deadbeats with the release of “Holy Ghost,” the second single from his upcoming EP. Garnering significant attention from key selectors like Caspa and Peekaboo, this UK tastemaker has been creating waves within the bass community. His recent viral hit “ON JOB” has been played by artists such as Sammy Virgi, Eptic, Levity, Zeds Dead, Dr. Fresch, and many others.

Back with his most recent release, “ Holy Ghost,” Zero unleashes a wonky, high-octane festival-ready weapon for any DJ’s arsenal. Brought to you via Deadbeats, this track solidifies Zero’s presence as a rising star among the Deadbeats roster. Opening with a choppy, reverby vocal line and a piercing high hat, the track sizzles with anticipation. The bass booms ring out loudly as if they were struck from some Tibetan gong. International dance legend Laidback Luke closes out a transformative era with the release of his CODE/RED EP - a bold, high-energy project that culminates the end of what he calls his “year of rebellion.” Out on Dim Mak Records, the EP ties together a global tour, a series of standout singles, and a renewed creative fire.

The newest single on the project, Laidback Luke’s cover of “Now That We Found Love' leads his Bloghouse-inspired CODE/RED EP, fusing a fidgety electro house groove with soulful vocals & a driving melodic bassline.

Wrapping Up the Year

“The catchy and classic vocal of Now That We Found Love, was the perfect excuse for me to put a twisted Bloghouse beat under it,” says Laidback Luke. “Flirting with the origins of Dutch House and a signature Luke breakdown, all of this comes together as I wrap up my year of rebellion with the CODE/RED EP.”

As Luke explains, this year has been about breaking free and rediscovering authenticity: “This year of rebellion for me was breaking out of a decade long mould that I had found myself in: an artist that got stale, a style that was vanilla. I reinvented myself by going back to authentic artistry, to the time right before my big breakthrough - the time of Bloghouse. I honed in on a sound that was opposite of what everyone else was doing but crushed on my dance floors. I needed that passion and fire back. I named my world tour and EP, ‘CODE/RED’ to signify an alert: Laidback Luke broke out. Laidback Luke is back. Watch out!”

His CODE/RED world tour embodied that reinvention, taking the sound and energy around the globe. “My number 1 show of the year still holds: Avalon LA. I premiered my new look, sound and feel, and took a regular club night, and turned it into an event. Changing stages mid-show, bringing special guests in, playing special throwbacks that connected my original crowd with the new crowd.”

That sense of community - a hallmark of Luke’s early Bloghouse era became a driving force behind his performances this year. “What has always been big to me in my precious beginning years of Bloghouse, is the sense of community. To tie everyone into my journey and most importantly, to share my journey. This became prevalent in my record-breaking set at Tomorrowland Belgium, where I orchestrated the biggest back-to-back ever played at Tomorrowland with 17 DJ’s sharing my slot and stage. The concept was Boiler Room, but surrounded with a crowd of DJs.”

Inspiration from the Greats

Among the EP’s standout moments is Luke’s monumental collaboration with James Brown, The Godfather of Soul. “Part of the CODE/RED EP, and an absolute highlight of the EP, is my official collaboration with The Godfather of Soul, James Brown. It’s the biggest collaboration I’ve ever done and if you consider that I’ve worked with Daft Punk, Madonna and Donna Summer, James Brown respectfully feels like a pinnacle and 2025 will forever be a highlight because of that.” This release was undoubtedly a pivotal moment, while the CODE/RED live experience simultaneously took Luke from Asia to Europe to North America, marking new milestones at every stop.

A culmination of his Dim Mak singles released throughout 2025, the CODE/RED EP is a statement of artistic freedom and fearless reinvention - a full-circle moment for one of dance music’s most enduring innovators.

Their presence on social media has catapulted them to stages across the globe with their viral “covers” of throwback dance hits by Daft Punk, the Chemical Brothers, and The Prodigy, garnering them tens of millions of views and virality across their socials.

Building off of the Past

In 2023, the duo sold out their first-ever headline tour focusing on legendary rock venues around North America.  Towards the end of the year, their final shows were cut short after revealing that frontman "Micky" had been diagnosed with cancer. Following a brief hiatus from touring and music at the start of this year to seek treatment, the release of their next collaboration with Lane 8, 'Remission,' marked the official return of a cancer-free Kasablanca after the pair debuted the track during their LIVE sets at Ultra Music Festivals in Miami, Chile, and Peru.

Following ‘Remission’, Kasablanca progressed forward at a blistering pace over the past year, releasing three more lead singles, the first side of their Higher Resolution album, over 40 tour dates, of which more than 20 were their own headline shows, all of which helped to double the following of the band. 

An album built in two halves, 'Higher Resolution' is the culmination of years of work from the duo, who go by their aliases Micky and Viktor Kasablanca.  With the release of ‘Side A’ of the album in October 2024, fans saw a wide range of musical influences and tastes converge, from dance floor anthems to home-listening numbers and everything in between. As fans have been clamoring for the release of the rest of the album with ‘Side B’ for the past 9 months, they are finally getting their wish. 

What to Expect

Just as ‘Side A’ of the album features some big hits, like Kasablanca’s official cover of ‘Breathe’ originally by The Prodigy, with the full album, fans are finally getting some long-awaited IDs from over the years.  Finding viral success on different social media platforms, the lead single release of ‘Audio Machina’ kicks off the second half of the campaign with a song that was first debuted live over two years ago. Looking even further back, ‘Television’ finally gets released, as the highly acclaimed track has long been a fan favorite at live shows for several years.
