1991, a music producer from the UK, is currently one of the hottest prospects of British DnB. Having being supported by DJs like Dimension and Friction in 2016, the well-rounded producer recently released his latest two-single EP on OWSLA’s sister label NEST HQ.

Part of this EP is “Heartstrings,” featuring vocalist July Jones.  Most components of the song conform to the sound design of typical British DnB. However, about a minute into the track, subtle departures from the norm are clearly evident, adding an element of freshness to this extremely well produced song.

With “Heartstrings,” 1991 has experimented in fusing liquid DnB and melodic with future bass music, the results of which are pretty spectacular.
