Nu-disco and indie dance duo, The Knocks hit the ground running to start the new year, as group members B-Roc and JPatt join forces with vocalist Absofacto to deliver a new single named “TROUBLE.” This track is taken from their upcoming album Testify, poised to release on February 3, accompanied by the start their “Feel Good Feel Great Tour” in Vancouver on the same date. The tour includes over 20 stops across North America, with guest appearances by Bipolar Sunshine, Gillian Moss, Lophiile, Mark Johns, and Skylar Spence.
According to a press release from the duo, “TROUBLE” originated as a 90 BPM melancholy piano ballad, which they manipulated as a sample to give it the contemporary nu-disco sound unique to The Knocks. The accompanying music video mirrors the melancholy feel of the track, with arial shots in sepia tone of a lonely car driving through a Midwestern landscape. In October of last year, The Knocks released the first single taken from the album called “Heat” featuring vocals from X Ambassadors‘ Sam Nelson Harris. Additionally, fans heard “I Swear” by Young Thug, produced by The Knocks, on Carnival Vol. III: Road to Clefication, and can expect a collaboration with MNEK on the upcoming album.
