Control Room New Single “Kurt Cobain”
Rising bass house duo Control Room return with a bold new statement on their latest single, “Kurt Cobain.” Packed with raw attitude and unruly energy, the track taps directly into the provocative spirit of the “slutty house” wave currently taking over dancefloors and social feeds.
Built for late-night sets and chaotic underground moments, “Kurt Cobain” blends edgy lyricism, driving bass house production, and a rebellious rock-inspired spirit. The result is a track that feels intentionally unfiltered, designed less for restraint and more for pure release.
Speaking on the single, Control Room shared:
“We wrote ‘Kurt Cobain’ specifically for bush raves. It’s not meant to be taken too seriously. We leaned into funny lyrics, big energy, and just chased a vibe that would go off in the middle of nowhere. We grew up on rock and roll, and we’ve always wanted dance music to carry that same rebellious spirit. This was our way of bringing that energy into the forest.”
The release also marks another milestone in the duo’s growing rise within the electronic music space. After submitting demos to Wax Motif during one of his livestreams, Control Room caught the attention of both the acclaimed house producer and viewers in the chat. Once the track was played live on stream, “Kurt Cobain” quickly gained traction and ultimately secured its sign-off.
Sonically, the record is as direct as it is effective. “Kurt Cobain” thrives on a hypnotic groove, punchy low-end, and drops that feel tailor-made for sweat-soaked rooms and peak-hour dancefloor mayhem. It is bold, irreverent, and purpose-built to hit hard in a live setting.
Control Room have continued to build momentum through high-energy performances and increasing support from major names in dance music. Their growing profile includes a recent spin of “For You” by Illenium on his radio show, as well as support from Diplo and Walker & Royce on their “Freak” edit.
With more North American dates expected to be announced this year, Control Room are proving they are more than just a duo to watch. They are carving out a lane of their own, where technical precision meets reckless fun, and where each release pushes their sound further into the spotlight.
