Rising techno star Layton Giordani to release ‘Better Than U Thought’ on Insomniac’s Factory 93 imprint
New York City native Layton Giordani has cemented his status as a prestigious tastemaker in the techno world, standing behind a respected decade-long discography that has pushed him to the forefront of the next generation of underground producers.
Giordani touches down on Factory 93 Records with his new single, "Better Than U Thought." This vocal-led peak-time techno track revolves around an enchanting hook whose silky croons sit atop running basslines, whirring risers, sharp percussion, cooing harmonic accents, and an acid-fueled resolution, closing the track in fine form.
“I was playing a Euro weekend in Amsterdam/Berlin, and I was looking to play a more driven techno set, but I also wanted to have a more sexy aesthetic, so I started surfing the web for vocals. I found this amazing slow vocal, sped it up, added an acid hook, and here we are,” Giordani says

Kasablanca delivers the fourth single of their upcoming debut album, ‘Higher Resolution’ (Side A), this time with their viral official cover of The Prodigy’s iconic track from 1996, ‘Breathe.’
Quickly becoming a chart-topping single in the late '90s, ‘Breathe’ was the second single from The Prodigy’s third album ‘The Fat of the Land.’ The song saw widespread critical acclaim around the world, hitting number 1 on UK music charts, going on to be 2x certified platinum, and earning a spot as one of dance music’s most recognizable tracks.
First heard in 2023 during Kasablanca’s set at the Group Therapy Weekender at The Gorge Amphitheater, the duo took the audience by surprise with this thumping live-oriented take on ‘Breathe.’ Footage of the cover quickly spread online, garnering millions of views across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. It was the most shared electronic music video on Instagram by any melodic techno artist in 2023, with over 52,000 shares. While the song was never intended to see an official release, the fans wanted it, and with the blessing of The Prodigy themselves, Kasablanca’s cover of ‘Breathe’ will now be commercially available.
Kasablanca’s ‘Breathe’ gives fans an official tribute to the original hit while blending modern tastes of acid house and techno into a true mainstage anthem. "I was a big fan of Frynn's vocals since hearing 'Many Times' with Camelphat & Mathame. I reached out to her, and a few hours later she sent me a first demo of 'Pulling Me to You.' The vocals inspired me to create a melodic techno tune around it, but 19 versions and a few weeks later I still wasn’t convinced with the final result.
In March, I met Jono in LA and as we spoke music over lunch, I showed him the track and we decided to collaborate on it. Two weeks later we played together in Purified South Africa, so it was natural that we’d send it to Nora once finished.
