Today, Apple Music releases a previously unpublished DJ Mix from Ibiza legend Carl Cox, recorded live at the island’s most revolutionary new venue [UNVRS] this July. This 7-hour workout from the globally adored dance music icon spans all styles and eras of techno, taking us on a journey from midnight to sunrise, piloted with characteristic skill by one of the best in the game, from behind the decks at this must-visit clubbing destination.
Recorded as part of his birthday celebrations on 27th July 2025, and unreleased until now, the set took place as part of the Carl Cox Sunday Residency at [UNVRS], the newest, and most talked about addition to Ibiza nightlife. The new venue, with its cutting-edge production prioritising adaptability and customisation as well as high-tech spectacle, provided the perfect platform for an extended celebration of what makes Ibiza unique; a sense of unity, energy and commitment to the dancefloor that no other destination can match.
Captured using groundbreaking Spatial Audio technology, this mix places listeners right in the heart of the [UNVRS] dancefloor. The 360 audio recreates the feeling of being immersed in Ibiza’s newest club, surrounded by light, sound and relentless euphoria.
Relationship With Ibiza
This set marks one of many high points for both the debut season of [UNVRS] and Carl Cox’s highly-anticipated return to the island. His blockbuster Sunday residency was a fitting next chapter in his storied Ibiza legacy. This first history-making season of [UNVRS] featured headline performances and residencies from the biggest names in house, techno and beyond, many of which are available exclusively on the [UNVRS] DJ Mixes page on Apple Music.
This release forms part of the ongoing collaboration between Apple Music and The Night League, creators of [UNVRS], Ushuaïa & Hï Ibiza, to capture and share the island’s most iconic performances in spatial audio, bringing the sound of Ibiza to the world.
Joining them today are previously unpublished sets from percussive techno allstars The Martinez Brothers, and progressive-electronic trio WhoMadeWho, both recorded at Hï Ibiza and both of which are available to stream now. This adds to the library of DJ Mixes available on Apple Music from the island’s top clubs, including recorded sets this summer from Calvin Harris and Armin van Buuren.
