Superstar DJs Steve Aoki and Nicky Romero Come Together for Their Higher Off The Ground EP

Steve Aoki and Nicky Romero join forces on their Higher Off The Ground EP, a dynamic fusion of electro energy and tech house groove. The project features two standout cuts: “Higher Off The Ground,” a high-octane blend of driving basslines and electrifying synths, and “Day & Night,” a deeper, rolling groove that highlights both producers’ mastery of the tech house sound.
Aoki shares, “Working with Nicky on the Higher Off The Ground EP has been pure energy from day one. We’ve both been part of the dance music journey for so long, and this project is about pushing that evolution even higher. Every track is built for that moment when the crowd and the music connect – when you lift off the floor and hit that next level together. That’s the spirit of Higher Off The Ground.”
Romero adds, “I’m happy to be collaborating again with Steve after Be Somebody. It’s always a pleasure working with someone who has such a clear, creative, and conceptual vision. With the Higher Off the Ground EP, our goal was to create something that captures the energy of a mainstage/festival while maintaining the club feel.”
Both Steve Aoki and Nicky Romero have been key figures in the mainstage dance scene for years, and their combined efforts have proven to be a powerful force. With “Higher Off The Ground,” they elevate those skills – the EP is set to be released on Dim Mak / Protocol Recordings TODAY.
