Following the success of his recent Dim Mak releases, including “Set Me Free” and his iconic cover of Blue Monday, Thomas Gold once again proves his ability to craft dancefloor-ready records that blend emotion with energy. “Rebel” channels a message of resilience and self-discovery, offering a track that resonates as much on the headphones as it does on the mainstage.
Thomas Gold shares; “REBEL started from a vocal demo I received from Barmuda — and the moment I heard it, I felt something powerful. There was so much emotion in his voice that I couldn’t let it go. The original version of the track was completely different, but I had this vision of creating a darker, more cinematic space around his vocal, paired with cool tech house club beats and sounds that give it energy and movement. For me, REBEL is about finding your way back when things fall apart — about standing up again, even when it feels like the light’s gone out. It’s the first track from my upcoming 4-track ECHOES EP on Dim Mak, which showcases both sides of my sound — this one being the darker, clubbier side.”
