French underground hitmakers Oden & Fatzo make a powerful return to Defected Records, teaming up with producer Romeo Louisa on their most ambitious single to date, “Be The One.”
The Parisian trio have become synonymous with modern house innovation, delivering a string of dancefloor favorites on the London imprint, including 2024’s summer smash “Tell Me What You Want” with Poppy Baskcomb and the follow-up “Only For Tonight” with m.O.N.R.O.E and Matluck. Now, they join forces once more with long-time friend and collaborator Romeo Louisa, setting the stage for another standout Defected release.
Hailing from the French Riviera, Romeo Louisa brings a distinct, soulful edge to the collaboration. Known for his garage-inspired grooves and vibrant sound, Louisa has worked alongside house contemporaries such as Josh Butler and THEOS, and earned remix treatment from the respected DJ Steaw. His artistry complements Oden & Fatzo’s playful, funk-driven identity, creating a track that seamlessly blends underground credibility with crossover appeal.
“Be The One” is co-produced by the GRAMMY Award-winning Picard Brothers, whose pedigree in shaping global hits lends extra weight to the release. The result is an energetic record filled with bursts of funk, filtered vocals, and intricate synth work – an homage to the French electronic heritage that has influenced generations of dance music.
