Acclaimed producer, DJ, and visionary artist Seven Lions returns with his highly anticipated new single, “By the Light of the Moon (feat. Kerli),” out today, September 17. Serving as the lead single from his upcoming album Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars, the track reunites Seven Lions with Estonian vocalist Kerli for the first time since their beloved 2014 collaboration, “Worlds Apart”.

Ethereal and emotionally charged, “By the Light of the Moon” showcases the unique creative synergy between the two artists. The track blends soaring, cinematic production with Kerli’s unmistakable vocals, evoking a dreamlike atmosphere that bridges nostalgia and evolution – eleven years after first joining forces, their collaboration resonates with even greater depth.

Asleep in the Garden of Infernal Stars, due this December, is a bold new chapter in Seven Lions’ artistic journey. The album draws inspiration from his early roots in trance and metal while expanding on the sweeping melodic arcs and immersive soundscapes that have become his signature. Reflecting on the project, Seven Lions shares: “This album is about feeling increasingly out of place in the current media landscape…there’s just so much noise. I wanted to turn away from all that and reconnect with what originally made me fall in love with making music. It’s definitely a statement of individuality and acceptance that I have no”place” in EDM other than the one I make for myself.”

Seven Lions, aka Jeff Montalvo, has been pushing electronic music boundaries for over a decade, beginning with his 2012 Beatport remix contest win for Above & Beyond’s “You Got to Go”. Since then, he has released on labels including AnjunabeatsOWSLACasablanca, and his own Ophelia Records, delivering hits like “Strangers” (with Tove Lo), “Rush Over Me” (with IlleniumSaid the Sky, Haliene), and “Need Your Love” (with GryffinNoah Kahan). His 2022 album Beyond the Veil explored downtempo dance-pop with collaborators like Lights and Vancouver Sleep Clinic, followed by 2024 releases such as “Not Even Love” (with Illenium) and “I’ll Wait For You” (with Subtronics and Skylar Grey). A top touring act, Seven Lions has sold out iconic venues like Red Rocks, LA State Historic Park, and the Tacoma Dome, performed at festivals including Ultra Miami, EDC Las Vegas, and Electric Forest, and grown Ophelia Records into a defining force in melodic bass, amassing over a billion streams while championing rising talent.

Estonian singer, songwriter, and visionary creative Kerli has carved out a reputation as one of pop and electronic music’s most distinctive voices. Known for her ethereal vocals and artistic world-building, she first rose to prominence with tracks like “Walking on Air” and her critically acclaimed debut album Love Is Dead. Over the years, Kerli has collaborated with leading electronic artists while cultivating a devoted global following inspired by her imaginative, otherworldly aesthetic and emotionally charged performances.

With “By the Light of the Moon”, Seven Lions offers a first glimpse into an album that promises to be both raw and transcendent – a testament to his evolution as one of electronic music’s most emotionally resonant artists.
