Josh Wink Unveils Second Installment of “Found Sounds” Archive Series with Rare Nike Pavilion Set
Spun live on vinyl, Josh Wink’s newly unearthed recording delivers an immersive journey through house, acid, and techno, showcasing a fearless era of rave culture
Out now, Exclusively on Apple Music

Following the successful launch of his Found Sounds series earlier this year, legendary DJ and producer Josh Wink returns with the next chapter: an electrifying live recording from a packed night at the Nike Pavilion in Atlanta, GA, during the height of the U.S. rave explosion. Available September 5 exclusively on Apple Music, the mix continues Wink’s celebration of three decades of sonic innovation, artistic risk-taking, and global dancefloor influence.
An Iconic Night
“It’s a bit unclear which party this was from,” Wink recalls, “but I remember it being a packed, sweaty night during the good old rave days. You can hear the crowd cheerfully shouting and screaming at certain moments in the recording – literally coming through the turntable’s needle. I’ve always loved playing events like these because I felt free to explore a wide range of music styles, and you can hear that journey in this recording: house, minimal, acid, and techno all living together.”
Recorded entirely on vinyl, the set captures Wink at his most adventurous and spontaneous, digging deep into obscure white labels and limited-press gems from his collection—some so rare that even he can’t identify them today. “When I tried to ID some of the tracks, I couldn’t,” Wink admits with a laugh. “Maybe this will encourage listeners to join in the ‘ID game’ and help uncover the mysteries hidden in the mix.”
Tracing Three Decades of Influence
The Found Sounds series launched earlier this year with Wink’s legendary 1998 set from Twilo, an unforgettable night at one of New York City’s most iconic clubs, and continues to provide fans unprecedented access to the archives of one of electronic music’s most influential pioneers. These releases celebrate Wink’s 30-year journey and the enduring impact of tracks like “Don’t Laugh,” “I’m Ready,” and “Higher State of Consciousness,” which helped define entire eras of techno, acid, and rave culture.
With this new Nike Pavilion recording, Found Sounds invites listeners deeper into Josh Wink’s world, one where history, improvisation, and innovation collide. It’s a rare opportunity to experience the raw energy and eclecticism of a moment when the underground was thriving, boundaries were dissolving, and the rave community was united on the dancefloor.
