Built on a dream and fueled by countless hours of blood, sweat, and tears, Hot Beam Productions has quickly blossomed into one of the most dynamic and fastest-rising production companies in the Boulder area. Founded by Daniel and Beau in middle school, these two lifelong friends have poured their hearts into this creation, and it surely shows.

The Dream

Founded all the way back in jr high, these two eager teens scoured the internet, finding cheap and affordable ways to get this dream moving. Scrimping, saving, and purchasing the little equipment they could afford from Amazon, the dream was finally alive. While most kids were debating on asking the school cheerleader to the next school dance, these guys were the ones putting on the production of said dance.

Hosting pool parties and organizing school dances to raise money for more equipment, the hustle was quickly pulsating through their veins. The next significant step was when the duo arrived at the University of Colorado Boulder. Noticing a lack of production value in the local fraternity scene, their inquisitive minds were off to the races once again. Investing in more gear and teaching themselves industry standards, these self-taught masterminds were off into the night.

As passion poured in and opportunities appeared, their business only seemed to scale up at an alarming rate. Suddenly, they were adding lasers, industrial-sized CO2 tanks, and building a reputation that precedes itself. These guys aren’t your typical production company; they’re there for every second of the set-up, concert, and tear-down. Sort of like the Marines — the first to come in and last to leave. At only 20 years old, Beau and Daniel set new standards for both emerging and established production companies, thanks to their high-quality work and meticulous craftsmanship.

The expansion

With things expanding in all directions, this past year has been monumental for Hot Beam Productions, working with big-name artists such as Gudfella, Wuki, and Omnom, as well as supporting events like Foam Wonderland Denver. Their youthful spirit and mature work ethic have surely set them apart from the rest. They’ve even begun to take this dream on the road, collaborating with artists and venues in states beyond their own.

Looking ahead, the goal is to keep scaling and evolving their dream of production. Fighting to keep the DIY spirit alive, they’re excited to take on bigger stages and challenges in the upcoming future.
