Control Room & Dashi Drop Debut Bass House Banger “What’s Your Motive”
Control Room & Dashi drop their debut collab “What’s Your Motive,” and it hits hard from the jump. Designed for late-night dance floors and sweaty warehouse sets, the track delivers punchy bass house energy with hypnotic layers. A spoken-word vocal rides over chunky production, bouncing between cheeky synths and a deep groove that keeps things moving.
“This was our first time working with Dashi, and we were stoked with how it turned out,” says Control Room. “He sent over a bunch of ideas, and this one just clicked right away.”
The project came together across Canada. Dashi, based on the East Coast, started the idea remotely and sent it to Control Room out West. From there, the trio crafted the track in stages—driven by trust, creative instinct, and a clear shared vision.
“When the guys told me, ‘this is the one,’ I knew it would be a banger,” adds Dashi. “It came together naturally. We couldn’t be more excited to release it on Generation Hex.”
At its core, “What’s Your Motive” walks the line between playful and gritty. While beep-boop textures bounce off moody basslines, the track’s central question lingers long after the last drop. As a result, the energy sticks with you.
Looking ahead, Control Room & Dashi drop more than just a track—they’re launching a sound. Control Room has already made waves at The Womp Festival, Badlands, and Wicked Woods. With this new collab, the duo pushes deeper into the bass house space with serious momentum.
