Loud Luxury Lights Up EDC: Remixes, Romance, and a Proper Dose of Canadian Charm
If you’ve ever blasted “Body” on a summer drive with the windows down, you already know that Loud Luxury’s got the feel-good vibes locked in. At this year’s EDC Las Vegas, the Canadian duo, Andrew Fedyk and Joe Depace, lit up Cosmic Meadow with their signature brand of house-pop and infectious energy. I had the amazing opportunity to catch up with them right after their set to talk love songs, dubstep confessions, and their dream collab with, yes…Nickelback.
From “Crash” to Cosmic
Their latest track, “Crash”, is a sonic serotonin boost. “We like to write really romantic songs sometimes,” Fedyk said, “ones that just make you feel something.” Depace added that teaming up again with Brando (the voice behind Body) was a no-brainer. It’s a song made for golden-hour beach drives – or under the magic of EDC’s electric sky at Cosmic Meadow.
Of course, “Crash” joins a roster of bangers that’s hard to beat. There’s “These Nights”, “Next to You”, and “Aftertaste” – a personal favorite – with its bittersweet groove and late-night heartbreak feel. Whether its the dance-floor ready “Body” or the emotionally charged “Aftertaste”, Loud Luxury always manages to thread real feeling into the beat.
A Set to Remember: Cosmic Meadow Came Alive
Their EDC set at Cosmic Meadow wasn’t just good – it was electric. The duo dropped a crowd-thrilling performance, with a combination of their own hits and remixes that made their set unforgettable. Their version of Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” turned the queer anthem into a euphoric dancefloor dream, sending a jolt of joy through the crowd. And just when you thought they couldn’t top it, they flipped Lorde’s “Ribs” into a haunting, pulsing house cut – a nostalgic gut-punch that had fans dancing and crying at the same time. It was one of those magical EDC moments in its pure form.
Controlled Chaos: The Loud Luxury Process
If you thought there was a playbook behind their glossy hits, think again. “No song comes about the same way,” Fedyk admitted. One day it’s building from vocals, another it’s stripping things down and remixing the vibe into something unmistakably “them.” But one constant? “We LOVE vocals,” Depace emphasized. “We usually start with those.”
Genre-Hopping and Dubstep Secrets
Despite their sleek house sound, Loud Luxury are musical omnivores. “We travel a lot and pick up new influences wherever we go,” Depace explained. Fedyk, on the other hand, made a bold confession: “In the dark, I listen to a lot of dubstep. I’m a massive PEAKABOO fan.” That’s right – romance by day, bass face by night.
Collabs, Kane Brown, and the Holy Grail: Nickelback
Having already crossed genre lines with artists like country singer Kane Brown, I asked if they hunt down specific vocalists or just let the vibe lead the way. “It’s really just about telling a good story,” Depace said. “We like working with people we really [connect] with – we become friends for life.”
When I asked who they’d love to work with next, the answers came quick: Post Malone, Bieber, The Weeknd…and then, in unison: Nickelback. The joke became a bit, almost as if there was an echo in the room – but by the third mention, I knew they were serious. Can we hope for another Loud Luxury hit featuring Nickelback?
The EDC Effect
EDC Las Vegas wasn’t their first rodeo, but the magic hasn’t faded. “There’s nothing like it,” Fedyk said. Depace highlighted how immersive the festival is, praising everything from the installations to the energy. “They spend as much on the art as they do [on] the artists. – I think everyone deserves that experience.”
Global Raves and Next Steps
Asia blew them away. “The energy was [wild],” Fedyk said, recalling a recent run across the continent. From EDC Korea to festivals in China, the global love for their sound has only grown.
And they’re not done. “We’d love to do Circuit Grounds next year,” Depace teased. “We’ve done Kinetic Field, we just did Cosmic Meadow…Circuit Grounds is the next step.” Their attraction toward the stage is all in favor of the fans. “We would just love to give the people a proper Loud Luxury show, and Circuit Grounds seems to be the stage to do that,” Fedyk said – and honestly, it’s hard to argue with that.
Perfect Harmony: Loud Luxury’s Unshakable Duo Dynamic
The duo’s chemistry is effortless — they move in sync, balance each other’s energy, and bring a unified vibe to every stage they hit. The fans can feel that harmony, and they brought it full force to their set at EDC.
“EDC – Thank you so much,” they said in unison, still glowing from the night. “We love you guys who came out and raved with us — we’ll see you again very soon.”
With heartfelt hooks, globe-trotting inspiration, and just the right amount of Canadian charm, Loud Luxury proves that the best kind of luxury is the kind that gets you dancing — ideally, under the Electric Sky.
