Roll it tight and get your lighters ready, as Cyclops presents the eagerly awaited “Blunt Song.” Renowned for his humorous style in the bass scene, with amusing visuals and hard-hitting bass drops, he has elevated his game. This wildly funny, blunt song, inspired by a fictional morning routine, has captured the attention of social media and fans everywhere.

With more than 2.3 million views, 180,000 likes, and over 3,000 comments on the three major platforms just 48 hours before its official launch, fans anxiously anticipate this one. Taken straight out of a page of my early twenties, this quirky track blends comedic wordplay with a generous dose of wobbly bass. It reminds me of a contemporary dubstep rendition of Sublime’s “ Smoke Two Joints,” maintaining an explosive soundscape that truly captivates.

Coffee and Blunt

The song opens with fragmented lyrics that intrigue the listener about what’s next. Strange samples and soft wobbles create an undercurrent in the background. It’s at about the thirty-second mark that the song’s real message becomes clear: “Wake up blunt, brush my teeth blunt, breakfast, eggs, coffee and a blunt. Drive to work, blunt, come back home, blunt smoke again go to be and dream about…”

Cutting off the end of his mission statement, the extreme wobbles ensue. Reminiscent of Distinct Motives, Mellow Man’s deep, raspy bass vibrations resonate powerfully. This thrilling first drop guarantees a serious bass face from every listener! Coughing samples enrich the backdrop during this segment of the track. Building up again, the song returns to its fun chorus, detailing his cannabis-filled daily routine.

Just as encompassing as the first drop, the second drop is slightly different in design. Reverbered and dragging along, it thinks less about wobbles but focuses more on bass. Ringing out as the bumper kit drags, the notes are more drawn out in this second drop. Littered with layered samples and the enigmatic lyrics during the final portion, a low-pressure filter takes hold and eases the listener into the final seconds of this smoke-filled banger.
