New York City native Layton Giordani has cemented his status as a prestigious tastemaker in the techno world, standing behind a respected decade-long discography that has pushed him to the forefront of the next generation of underground producers.
Giordani touches down on Factory 93 Records with his new single, “Better Than U Thought.” This vocal-led peak-time techno track revolves around an enchanting hook whose silky croons sit atop running basslines, whirring risers, sharp percussion, cooing harmonic accents, and an acid-fueled resolution, closing the track in fine form.
“I was playing a Euro weekend in Amsterdam/Berlin, and I was looking to play a more driven techno set, but I also wanted to have a more sexy aesthetic, so I started surfing the web for vocals. I found this amazing slow vocal, sped it up, added an acid hook, and here we are,” Giordani says
Layton Giordani stands firmly as one of the most popular tastemakers of techno’s new school, a true artist in every sense of the word. His pioneering musical vision serves as a contemporary voice for the younger generation. Spending years acquiring knowledge from musical greats, the 28-year-old possesses a wealth of experience far beyond his years and has now undeniably earned his rank in the upper echelon of techno.
Solely focused on his passion for music from the age of just 13, Giordani’s path forever changed at 19 years old after watching Danny Tenaglia perform live at Pacha NYC. Deeply inspired by the formative experience, Layton began to master his craft behind the decks, landing a pivotal residency at Brooklyn’s Output NY that would consequently steam-roll his career into quick maturity. Thanks to the faith they instilled in him, Layton turned heads and began making a name for himself through his deft touch and sharp ear.
Giordani has released on reputable labels such as Drumcode, Experts Only, Analytic Trail, and Intec and has remixed Dom Dolla, Green Velvet, Sam Paganini, Kevin Saunderson, and CamelPhat. He is set to embark on his debut North American Tour, which will include stops at the iii Points Music Festival, Sound Nightclub, The Church Nightclub, 45 East, EQ Nightclub, Das Energi, Concord Music Hall, and Seismic Dance Event at 1015 Folsom.
