Now, SØNIN teams up with platinum-selling producer Jaakko Salovaara, under his new JS moniker. Jaakko is widely renowned for his work on Darude’s smash hit ‘Sandstorm’ in 1999 and Bomfunk MC’s ‘Freestyler’.
“When I was starting out my journey in the music industry, I met Jaakko through our mutual friends,” SØNIN says. “At that time, he was one of the most successful Nordic dance music producers with songs like ‘Sandstorm’ and ‘Freestyler’ under his belt. I ended up helping him out in his studio with productions, and he mentored me a lot on songwriting and the power of a great hook in my tracks. I still think he is the master of those simple and catchy hooks that stay in your head for years. Working on this one with him after so many years was really fun. When we were together in the studio, it was like no time had passed, and we continued where we left off 10 years ago.”
Together, the pair look to reclaim the top spot once again with their latest trance stomper.
