Yesterday, June 11, Noisia engaged their Twitter following in an impromptu Q&A session ahead of today’s release of their own Outer Edges remix EP. For an hour, trio member Thijs de Vlieger promised to answer “any interesting question” posed by a fan.

Kinda bored at home after a really nice weekend, on a laptop with Twitter. Will answer any interesting question for a limited amount of time

Out of all the ground covered in the public discussion, perhaps the most intriguing revelation came when a fan asked about the trio’s involvement with Skrillex, whereupon Noisia stated, “we kinda have an album of very unfinished sonny moore demos.”

On 2011, did skrillex went to a studio of yours and made a dnb track inspired by you? I think me sang on it

Yes, multiple, we kinda have an album of very unfinished sonny moore demos

Noisia also professed admiration for Skrillex’s more recent work, claiming his pop-driven output to be objectively better than his earlier demos.

I really dont get why he releases stuff collabing w jb & all these other artist but not w you guys its his career after all but damn

Man that stuff sonny is doing now is sooooo much better than that early stuff. Might not be your taste but it’s very catchy

Though there is no indication that Noisia or Skrillex will ever release these early demos, DnB fans can hope that they may pave the way for a future collaboration between the two artists. With Skrillex’s unreleased edit of Dimension’s “UK” still out in the ether, it’s not unreasonable to assume that he may have intentions of delving into the fast-paced genre more steadily at some point in the future.

In the meantime, Noisia’s remixes for their own Outer Edges EP is now available in full. Stream the five-track EP, including the Dancing Astronaut-premiered remix to “Surfaceless,” below:
