Though Flume rarely fades from the public eye, he made headlines twice last week. On Friday, June 16, Harley Streten featured as a producer on Lorde’s newest single, “The Louvre.” Within the next day, the Australian producer was revealed as a collaborator on an even bigger project for frequent collaborator Vince Staples‘ forthcoming album, Big Fish Theory.

When news broke that Flume and Staples would partner with Kendrick Lamar, it was difficult to predict what tthe result would be. It would be difficult for the momentous partnership, which further features contributions from SOPHIE and Kučka, to live up to its lofty expectations. However, “Yeah Right” sees Kendrick and Vince provide their expected degree of prowess, atop a rare, abrasive Flume production of the highest caliber. Over the course of the song, gritty bars are punctuated by Kučka’s sultry vocals, culminating in the electrifying result one would expect from the supra-collaboration.
