With the run of success that The Chainsmokers‘ “Closer” experienced in 2016, one could be forgiven for thinking the song had finally run its course. Indeed, the successful duo themselves have seen of their subsequent releases achieve significant success and awards of their own. During his set at the festival, Wiz Khalifa caught fans off guard with his remix of The Chainsmokers’ smash. The rapper maintains the tracks identifying synths and playful percussive elements but twists the vocals to fit into his style. No word on whether an official remix is forthcoming, though given the fan reaction at Okeechobee, it wouldn’t be a surprise.
