Eagles & Butterflies is considered a key player in the underground circuit. Having appeared multiple times on Get Physical, Bedrock, and other notable imprints, the LA-based talent is appreciated for delivering driving, intense tracks whose keen melodic arrangements never fail to enthrall listeners.

Another skill the producer possesses in spades is his prowess for remixing tracks, which he’s now applied to Aero Manyelo’s “Mooki.” Multiple layers of ethnocentric percussion stand out as the central aspect of the composition, creating a sturdy foundation that the simple, yet groovy topline and recurring vocal clips curl around nicely.

The quirkiest accent Eagles & Butterflies had to work with, however, was the constant whistle samples found in the original. While tricky features like these can either make or break a song, the Bedrock alumnus took a risk in embracing them and ultimately made it work once again.

“Mooki (Eagles & Butterflies Remix)” reaches digital shelves on February 27 through Get Physical.
