After spending 2016 carving out a unique niche for himself in the electronic music space, Philadelphia-based producer Instupendo is already aiming to build towards bigger things in 2017. Following his last release, December’s “icarus.,” Instupendo has returned with his latest, “Comfort Chain.”

In keeping with Instupendo’s style, “Comfort Chain” falls firmly into the tranquil side of the musical spectrum, favoring wistful synthesis over harder edges.  Anchored by rising arpeggios, the track is in no great rush, allowing the cascading synths to pull the listener along for nearly half its length before the percussion is even introduced.

Overall, “Comfort Change” deserves more than a single listen, as each run-through reveals subtle tweaks and production tricks that may elude fans initially.
