In just over two weeks, Austin, Texas will be the destination of ILLfest (formerly known as ILLectric River), hosting some of the biggest names in EDM for an all-day festival of a different kind. The Texas born event is in its third year of existence, growing in popularity across the US. The festival truly is unique in so many ways. 2019 brings some significant changes including the name change from “ILLectric River” to “ILLfest”, but will bring the same vibes and good times you have come to expect from this music and arts festival.

On May 25th, the Travis County Expo Center in Austin, Texas will welcome thousands of festival goers to this venue and will be well equipped to handle the sights and sounds of what will be one of Austin’s largest EDM festivals this year. Seven Lions is the headlining act this year, adding ILLfest to their packed festival stops that also includes Electric Forest, Moonshine Festival and Imagine. There will be three stages of EDM, including Riot Ten, Bleep Bloop, Ghastly as the special guest, and a number of B2Bs featuring acts like Vincent and Montell2099. Kompany, Luca Lush and Blanke are just a few of the other artists ready to throw down at ILLfest this year.

The rest of the lineup is already enough of a reason to get your squad together.  If you like the big drops from different genres with plenty of opportunities to headbang, you will be joining the other fans of progressive house, dubstep, electronic jazz, trap, psychedelica and future bass artists. This group of artists was curated for a dance heavy, art-appreciating audience. In addition to the awesome music to be heard, ILLfest also focuses on the arts with a ton of experiences to immerse yourself in. Weave in the light displays, innovative visual installations and live art shows, ILLfest is bringing a satisfaction to all the senses, making the experience unique to the EDM world.

Expect the crowds to be as excited and passionate as any other EDM music festival, but with less attendees overall. Having a smaller crowd size is part of what makes ILLfest a festival of a different kind catering towards bringing fans closer to their favorite performances. Having a large crowd is great, but have you been at a festival where you can see the performances up a little closer and find your friends a little faster? The atmosphere is intimate by design, with both big names and local support on the roster to make the entire day action-packed, uniquely positioned to always be one of the most memorable music and arts festival in the great state of Texas.
