Dutch studio wizard Mike Williams releases his rendition of Trans-X‘s 1983 hit “Living On Video,” featuring DTale, in both an original and a club-oriented VIP Mix, a month after teasing it at Ultra Music Festival‘s Jacked Stage to the joy of the several thousand attendees occupying the stage’s packed dancefloor. The track both pays homage to the original with its distinctive melody and revamps it with a fresh electronic flair, distorting the vocals and adding upbeat melodies while still managing to be, in a way, moody and mysterious. Williams‘s club version incorporates a heavier bassline element for dancefloor appeal, bringing one of the 80s most-talked about songs to the modern club dancefloor. Mike has been playing different versions of this record in his sets for quite some time already, making it already a highly-anticipated release. It’s a follow-up to his collaboration with Afrojack “Alone” from March this year.

I’ve been playing multiple versions of this track for more than 4 years. The melody always does so well live. Everyone knows it from something, even not knowing the title or original artist. Very happy to finally release this version from ‘Living On Video‘” – Mike Williams

Mike Williams‘s breakthrough came in 2017 as his hit “Feel Good,” a collab with non-other than Felix Jaehn, went sky high on radio, in playlists and streams, and gathered so far over 155M streams on Spotify. “The Beat” (75M) and “Wait Another Day” with Mesto (over 100M) followed and turned into huge hits as well. Piece by piece, Mike is conquering the world with his incredible melodies, club bangers, and catchy radio hits. For every new song that Mike begins, the piano is the solid start and base. Because of that recognizable style and sound he creates, he got to play at the most famous festivals like; Ultra Music FestivalTomorrowlandParookavilleWorld Club Dome, and Mysteryland, among others. Even during the pandemic, Mike found himself behind his decks, he flies around the world and does tours in TaiwanNepal, and China, but he also did not skip Europe, such as CroatiaSwitzerland, and many other countries. When he’s back home from touring through the USCanadaAsia, or Europe, you can find the down-to-earth Dutchie in his studio in Hilversum. But even on tour, he always finds a way to dive into the studio, whether it is a day off or during a writing session in IbizaStockholm, or London, for example.
