Australian record producer and engineer Cassian today officially released the remix package for his latest single ‘Same Things’ feat. Gabrielle Current. The four-track package is out now via RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue Records and features remixes from Just Kiddin (UK), Artüria (UK), Sevader (AU) and Cassian’s own club mix.
On his contribution, Sevader said: “From start to finish this remix for us has been so surreal. Since we started our musical journey Cassian has always been someone we’ve looked up to! To now be asked to officially remix his single on Rose Avenue is an absolute honour.”
Premiering officially today via Pilerats who said “ [the club remix] takes the single’s breezy and somewhat light-hearted feel and mixes it with a thick, brooding bass-line, pumping up that energy for a sweat-inducing re-do of the track that’s sure to get a few late-night/early-morning swings”, the package has already received international support from radio and tastemakers alike including Riva Starr, Martin Solveig, Horse Meat Disco, Gorgon City, Wax Motif, Hardwell, Don Diablo.
Released earlier this year and featuring rising LA singer Gabrielle Current who’s known for her vocal style that borrows inspiration from jazz, indie and electronic, “Same Things” was spot added to triple j. “Same Things” lands between the worlds of pop and electronic, showcasing the soul of American indie fused with the singular clubland stylings that Cassian has become known for. The writer/engineer extraordinaire made his Rose Avenue debut in 2018 with “Lafayette” which commanded airwaves and was supported by Nora En Pure, Hayden James, Alex Metric, and Rose Avenue label heads RÜFÜS DU SOL in their 2018 Essential Mix and MIXMAG cover mix.
Coming off the back of his huge Coachella Do Lab set, Cassian has also announced his biggest Australian headline tour yet, which marks the debut of his live show. Not to be missed, Cassian will hit Canberra, Perth, Sydney, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne.
The accomplished producer and DJ is one of the most well-rounded acts to emerge from Sydney as of late. As adept in the studio as he is on stage, he’s proven himself as not only a flagship artist in the dance community, but also a go-to songwriter and producer. He’s recently worked with Hayden James, What So Not, among others, and holds mixing credits on both RÜFÜS DU SOL’s recent record SOLACE and their sophomore triumph Bloom. Cassian has also recently released an official remix for RÜFÜS DU SOL’s biggest single, “Treat You Better”, already amassing over 26 million streams globally.
