In the “La La La” song and video, Neela sings “No stress, no fear, just bass and synthesizers,” in a quiet, close-up moment near the song’s beginning. Her voice is subdued, but her ambition is unbounded, soon to be fortified by programmed EDM beats — womp-womping, blipping and dropping. The glitching upheavals of production are provided by Beatchild, who collaborated with Neela on her upcoming EP Lovers in Danger.

It’s no surprise Beatchild found the next big star in Neela, who got her start in Toronto’s theater and arts. This dramatic quality is evident in different aspects of her creative production–from the way she uses her voice to the narrative style video that she acts in. In this video, Neela plays a robot who breaks free from her grid, arriving in an unfamiliar landscape. On the other hand, the soundscape that accompanies these feature all of the elements of an EDM-crossover hit.
