Anonymous Melbourne act, Running Touch, has released his newest electronic pop/funk tune “Equaliser,” featuring I.H. The producer, singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist has watched his efforts materialize this year, with his debut EP A Body Slow eclipsing the top spot on iTunes electronic album charts, peaking at #9 overall. 2017 also saw the enigmatic artist open for illustrious acts like ODESZA and ZHU for the Australian legs of their tours.

According to Running Touch, “Equaliser” unexpectedly sprang from a year’s worth of experimentation and compiling ideas: “A completely haphazard tweak led to me terraforming the song and it being pulled out of the “maybe” pile amongst the 20 odd demos I had,” he said.

While incorporating various elements of pop and electronic, “Equaliser”‘s offbeat idiosyncrasies are what make it compelling. The funky track’s intertwining, fragmented vocal sampling and distortion add variation to the steady, booty-shaking bassline.
