Swedish duo Icona Pop has long been a fierce pop force to be reckoned with. They went light on the singles for the majority of 2017 in the wake of “Brightside,” but have returned for the summer armed with one of their catchiest to date.
Said to be co-written by Tove Lo, “GIRLS GIRLS” is a fun, fist-pump-friendly vocal track that puts issues of equality and womanhood into the spotlight without getting too serious. Playing with subtle future house influences whilst keeping things as hooky as one would expect from the TEN Music Group act, “GIRLS GIRLS” proves a single every bit worth the wait from an act always welcomed within the dance/pop remits.
