The DA Hot 25 is the definitive playlist series running through dance music culture and hand-delivering you with the essential tracks of the week. Whether it’s the hottest or quickest trending tracks, brand new music from your favorite artists, or songs from the unknown that should be landing on your radar, Dancing Astronaut brings you 25 carefully selected records that reflect what’s happening in our world.
This week’s playlist features some of dance music’s biggest tracks yet this year from Kygo, Cashmere Cat, Flume; stellar remix efforts from Grey, Pegboard Nerds, and Marshmello; and standout offerings from rising newcomers Sam Gellaitry, Robotaki, and DEVAULT. Additionally, we’ve provided our top picks from within The DA Hot 25, highlighting two standout tracks.
The Heat of the Week: Kygo & Selena Gomez – It Ain’t Me / Flume – Enough (feat. Pusha T)
While only one track is deemed “The Heat of the Week” in most weeks’ installations of the Hot 25, it was too hard to compare Kygo and Flume’s releases and pick one over the other. Thus, we have two tracks that fall under the highlighted label. Kygo has made his transition into full-fledged pop star with his Selena Gomez-assisted, tropical-tinged “It Ain’t Me,” while Flume continues to cause jaws to drop with his dark and twisted, Pusha T collaboration, “Enough.”
The Breakout Select: Noah Cyrus – Make Me Cry feat. Labrinth (Marshmello Remix)
Marshmello may have shut up some of his haters with his latest remix of Noah Cyrus’ “Make Me Cry.” Leaving his signature synths at home and instead exploring smoother elements, the masked figure turns Cyrus’ debut offering into a club-ready hit.
