Snakehips and MØ proved to be a stellar combination in January when they released one of the month’s biggest hits, “Don’t Leave.” The bass-tinged ballad succeeded largely because of its passionate lyrics and clean instrumentation. In the month since its release, “Don’t Leave” has inspired remixes by the likes of Throttle and Gryffin.
Now, rising talent Oshi has offered with a unique edit of his own. Doing what he does best, Oshi adds weight to the original in the form of heavy subs and pungent drops. What makes this remix specially intriguing, however, is the fact that, within four minutes, the producer takes listeners on a veritable journey through multiple genres, ranging from deep, broken beat electro to brief interludes of gritty house. There’s a reason that Oshi’s been an established name since he was 17, and his remix of “Don’t Leave” serves as yet another testament to his deserved high standing in the electronic music industry.
