Since REZZ and k?d announced their debut collaboration near the end of 2016, dance music fans of darker, heavier persuasions have eagerly awaited the joint effort from the two prodigious artists. Entitled “Fourth Impact,” Isabelle Rezazadeh provided fans with a first official glimpse of the k?d partnership in a preview yesterday, February 2. Many, however, may have already found the track familiar, due to its appearance as an unidentified track in Rezazadeh’s October mix for Mixmag’s “Impact” series and throughout her recent performances.

Sickle-sharp synths and bludgeoning bass-lines define the brainchild of the two producers, while its dexterous contrast of sordid sonic elements with clean production tactics strongly reaffirms the partners’ quickly-proven technical abilities. There’s a reason we named REZZ our “Breakout Artist of 2016” and listed k?d among our “Artists to Watch in 2017“; however, a listen through the finally-available “Fourth Impact” explains how they earned their accolades better than our words ever could.
