The masked s’more ingredient known as Marshmello has produced a remix of “Make Me (Cry)” by Miley’s little sister, Noah Cyrus, as his first release of the new year. A synthesis of sounds typical to the anonymous DJ, this remix features transformed and transposed vocal samples, warm bass synths, and precisely assembled percussion. Noah Cyrus’ vocal performance, along with Labrinth’s, really shines with a soulfully somber performance. These vocals are prime for the type of vocal tracking, sampling, and transformation for which Marshmello is known.

Noah Cyrus is the younger sister of Miley Cyrus, the artist formerly known as Hannah Montana. While Miley has taken the limelight by storm by grotesquely brandishing sex appeal at live shows and in the media, Noah has remained largely undiscovered. “Make Me (Cry)” is her first official single, and at only seventeen years old, if she is to even remotely follow the path of her sister, Noah won’t remain undiscovered for long.
