Future bass tastemaker Tchami has released the latest in his Confessions mix series and, unsurprisingly, it’s fantastic. In a departure from his typically singular, genre-defining sound, the French producer has culled underground tracks from the likes of Defected and Toolroom and strung them together over a driving 4/4 beat and signature TR-909 samples. The result is a languid, instantly enjoyable melange that updates the classic house music sound into a fresh spring mix. More than anything, the fifth Confessions installment highlights the producer’s ability to tap into the rich history of the genre and translate it into something today’s audiences can groove to.

While Tchami has likely been busy prepping for his nationwide Prophecy tour, this latest mix shows that the label boss isn’t going to quit bringing the heat any time soon. Listen to the mix which features tracks from Dennis Ferrer, Eli Escobar, and Tchami’s latest original, “Adieu” below:
