With prior production and writing duties alongside the likes of Diplo and Jessie J, Vancouver artist Imanos’ debut single has been a long time coming. Breaking the seal with Casablanca for his first solo offering to date, the rising talent and BBC 1XTRA favourite teams up with Pusha T and familiar topliner Karen Harding for the heavyset “Gunshy.”
Fusing Harding’s familiar vocal work with a contemporary stab at the modern trap sound, Pusha T’s unmistakable verses glide seamlessly alongside the familiar production finesse we’ve come to expect from Imanos and his output to date. “Gunshy” may be the first out of the box, but its a promising indicator of where the Canadian talent is placing his sights for 2017.
