As many of you may have seen on YouTube “PPAP”, or “Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen”, the outrageously catchy 45-second long ‘song’ has been making waves across social media having come out of literally nowhere with its release back in September. Since then the single which is written and performed by fictional character Pikotaro, the brainchild of Japanese comedian Daimaou Kosaka has even made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 and had a truly cringeworthy extended version signed by Ultra Music. Now, Pikotaro is looking to keep the renditions going with this extended orchestral version that gives us a whole new take on the song. The performance looks to have been televised on Japanese national television at the Japan Record Awards 2016 no less to usher in the new year. Following the completion of the first verse, Pikotaro launches into ‘Dance Time’ and even appears to be conducting the orchestra himself! Stream it below.
