Tonight, Red Bull Music Academy radio presents:  The Dark Heart of Chicago jackin’ House. The Sound Obsession program will cover the soul of the movement in Chicago’s underground scene during it’s golden years, from 1984 through 1987. The three hour mix promises a host of trailblazing tracks from Jesse Saunders, Adonis, Mr. Fingers, Phuture, and more.

Classic house and techno has become more accessible than ever to young electronic music fans thanks to a host of films documenting the genres’ origins, a surge in vinyl production, and curation efforts from EDM legends. Compound all that with the accessibility of the internet–and a little Kanye–and electronic music nostalgia is as vibrant as ever.

Tune into the stream live below to hear some of the era’s seminal tracks.
