Earlier this week, Eric Prydz released the 19th episode of EPIC Radio – his serial mix which has been broadcast biweekly since its resurrection from a two-year hiatus in 2016. For his newest episode, Prydz has opted to primarily delve into older selections from his catalogue.

The hourlong installment includes two unreleased Eric Prydz tracks, but is otherwise almost exclusively cuts from his Cirez D and Pryda alter-egos. The two exceptions to this trajectory within the set list are his 2014 remix of Steve Angello‘s “Voices” and Alphaville’s “Fallen Angel.” Prydz concludes his mix with the latter track, released in 1984 by the synthpop band behind the classic “Forever Young.” Apparently, Alphaville was a large source of inspiration for Eric Prydz in his formative years, as he denotes while introducing the song for his closing segment:

“When people ask me about bands and acts from back in the day that were really influential to me, I feel like I always talk about Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode. But, there’s also been other stuff that’s been equally influential on me and made a massive mark.

Alphaville is one of those bands…They had massive hits back in the ’80s…but for me it was always those middle tracks on the album that grabbed me the mos. The track that I’ve chosen for the Vinyl Chapter today is, according to me, one of the best ones they’ve ever made, and I just can’t get enough of it.”
