In addition to experiencing the joy of another year coming to an end, natives of Finland were treated to an especially significant New Year’s last night. As of today, the country has lived through 100 years of independence from Russia, with the adoption of the Finnish Declaration of Independence having been signed on December 6, 1917. In celebration of the nation’s immense milestone, many residents were treated to an extra special performance by one of the country’s most iconic music figues: Darude.
