BlackGummy has fashioned a signature style out of crafting dark, cerebral originals which frequently walk the line between techno and electro. For his latest, however, the mysterious LA-based entity has taken a softer route.

“SuperHuman,” BlackGummy’s new collaboration with Colleen D’Agostino (who many will remember from deadmau5’s “Seeya”) is a lush, progressive house piece with an inspiring topline. The song recalls the finesse of many of BlackGummy’s most seminal inspirations like Eric Prydz, deadmau5 and more.

Colleen D’Agostino shared the poignant story behind the track:

“I met Iman (BlackGummy) through a mutual friend at mau5trap. He sent me an instrumental he was working on and I was immediately drawn to the intensity of the track. During the time we were in the studio, I found out that a friend of mine had cancer. Inspired by his story and the stories of a few other friends who have faced similar challenges, I was able to write lyrics that reflected their positivity and bravery. To anyone facing situations that may seem hopeless, I hope you find strength and courage in “SuperHuman.”
